Participating in the Soni Summer School 2022 even just for a day is truly an experience that I will never forget. At first, I was a bit surprised because I did not expect that the school building was new and was very big, given the small number of students studying in each grade level. We were given a chance to present about our country, the Philippines. We shared to about the Filipino history and culture, as well as some famous places and landmarks. But what made our presentation more fun was the quiz (trivia) portion where the students, and teachers alike actively participated. They raised their hands to answer each question in anticipation of the correct answers! I hope they learned a lot and they had fun, because I really had a good time!

The school visit to SONI Junior High School was a fun and enriching experience for me. I was happy to be able to interact with Japanese junior high school students and some teachers. They were all welcoming and nice, and the school is beautiful and well-maintained. I was able to observe a math class as well, and I gained a lot of insights from it. I am also grateful for the opportunity to introduce my country, Philippines, and share some information about our school culture. Thank you very much for making this activity possible.
TAN SIEW CHING
We went to Soni Junior High School and gave a presentation about our own country. We also explained a bit about the school life in our country.
The students were very shy and it was not easy to get them to talk. I am in the same classroom as 4 Japanese students (majoring in science) from NUE and their lesson was about making your own mirror. They take turns to give some explanation and then help the students with the experiment step-by-step, when they gave further explanation, they also asked questions and the students were more prepared to engage in the lesson. It was a fun experience to see the students become more active in class.
