理数教育研究センターでは、2月23日(火）にヴュルツブルク大学のWimmer教授をお招きし、理数教育研究セミナーを開催しました。セミナーでは、ヴュルツブルク大学（ドイツ）で行われてきた中学校教員を目指す学生に対する数学ゼミナールのトピックについて話してくださいました。特に、離散数学の分野には、中学校教員養成のカリキュラムに取り入れることのできる問題がたくさんあることを紹介してくださり、オイラー回路、ドミノ倒し、ドミノタイリング、凸型タングラム、格子多角形のPickの定理、Eulerの多面体定理、整数長の辺をもつ三角形など、豊富なトピックについて丁寧に説明してくださいました。質疑応答も積極的に行われ、学部生、大学院生、教職員にとって大変有意義なセミナーとなりました。
講演概要： Discrete mathematics provides a wide range of problems, which can be included in the curriculum of junior high school teachers. The following classical topics will be discussed: Euler circuits, domino chains and domino tilings, convex tangrams, Pick's theorem on lattice polygons, Euler's polyhedron formula, the hypercube, triangles with integer lengths. The historical context will be considered and applications will be indicated.
