研究と教育について 植物を対象とした研究に携わっており、特に植物と水との関係について取り組んでいます。奈良教育大学自然環境教育センターには、農場(奈良実習園)と森林(奥吉野実習林)があり、自然環境を活かした教育研究に取り組むことのできる貴重な場が整っています。現在は、新たな作物栽培法の開発、街路樹を対象とした植栽技術の改良、マツ枯れ対策、森林保護に関する研究に取り組んでいます。
自然を相手とするため、山の天候のように予測が難しい条件も多く、事前準備や計画が調査時間や作業効率に大きく影響します。一方で、フィールドでは、作物の収穫や紅葉の観察など、野外活動を通して貴重な経験を得ることもできます。私はこれまで、国内外のさまざまな地域で森林調査や作物栽培に携わってきました。その経験を活かし、奈良実習園と奥吉野実習林を活用しながら、安全にフィールド教育を実践できる人材を育てていきたいと考えています。
